Shon Adams

Door Machine Production

Shon has spent 6-1/2 years working at Treasure Valley Door and Trim. Formerly he was produce manager at Albertsons for fifteen years and was a building sub-contractor prior to that.
In his job, he preps jams for hinges, lays out doors, and trims to necessary manufacturing specs.

Shon says the quality and accuracy is constantly checked and he feels that suppliers, such as Trimco, help greatly with the end-quality product

Charity Miller

Controller

Charity is the Treasure Valley Door and Trim front office person, who was hired three years ago.

Although she has no building trade experience, for five years she has worked with numbers, computer data entry, accounts, inventory, and so on. At Treasure Valley Door and Trim she also handles accounts payables, receivables, and end-of-month statements. Her position encompasses customer service, problem-solving, and directing questions to the correct persons. In fact, she has a special skill—reading peoples’ minds.

She likes the fact that the company is privately owned with a family environment, allowing leniency and kindness. If extra time off is needed, it is granted. Her 16-month-old son was named 2018’s Employee of the Year! From the time of his birth, he came to work with Mom every day until he was too big for a playpen. He was one of the guys.

Charity feels that the employees of Treasure Valley Door and Trim are proud of the company and its growth.

Testimonial

Hi, My name is Charity and I have been with TVDT for over a year now. I love this Business they treat their employees like family, and their customers even better! I have been doing Accounts Payable/Receivable for a couple of years, but TVDT is by far the best company I have worked for! I welcomed my first son while employed here and they were very supportive and welcoming of the new member! He was even made Employee of the Year. All in the end I love my job and wouldn’t change a thing!

Bryan Ropp

Operations Support

In 2014, my oldest son Bryan became the newest family addition to Treasure Valley Door and Trim. He has a background in Information Technology and computer skills, so his big contribution to the business is his ability to convert hand-posting, ordering, and inventory to a “paperless” system. He assumed many of Linda’s duties, freeing her to focus on payroll, and allowing her more, much needed, free time.

Both Bryan and his brother, Jason, spent their teenage and young adult years working alongside their dad, Virgil, in various capacities of the construction trade. In fact, Bryan bought a vintage 1950 Dully Chevy truck with an 8×12 footbed and 4 ½ foot wood sides (Big Bertha) and started his own building site clean-up business while still in high school. He then passed that business on to Jason.

Bryan and Lisa have three daughters, Mandi, Brittany, and Cassadie; a son, Bryson, and five grandchildren, Drew, Camden, Cole, Lynk and Quentin.

Jason Ropp

Project Manager

Jason, Virgil’s youngest son, joined the company in 2012, adding to the family of Treasure Valley Door and Trim. Jason serves as Project Manager. He doesn’t usually “pound the pavement” for customers, but works with existing accounts and sometimes even finds new contacts when someone calls the company phone number they obtained from construction doors on job sites.

He likes to walk the job, measure it up, provide quotes, and manage the project and subsequent orders. He often utilizes the new Showroom to allow homeowners to determine product choices. He is very computer savvy, so he uses that tool to do his “take offs” to complete orders.
His experience with the building trade began while working with his Dad as a teenager, and later included his self-owned Discard It building site clean-up business, taking that over from brother, Bryan.

Jason’s and Amy’s family includes daughters Sarah, 17, and Rowan, almost 7, and son, Phaedon, 4.

Virgil Ropp

Co-Owner

Virgil came to Idaho from Ohio in the late 60’s, as an Airman at Mountain Home Air Force Base. At the end of his service, instead of heading back to Ohio, he remained in Boise and began his career in the building industry. His years of employment in various aspects of that trade have culminated in ownership of the now thriving Treasure Valley Door and Trim. Last year, a career long dream was fulfilled when Virgil opened a beautiful showroom to feature the varied products offered to customers, including over fifty sample doors, millwork and trim, door and bath hardware, and many design ideas.

He is happy to say the company he co-owns with wife, Linda, is a family business, with actual related family, and employees who are treated as family. Virgil tries to keep the environment lighthearted but always professional.

Andy Smith

Door Shop Associate

Andy has been with Treasure Valley Door and Trim for a little under a year and was recommended for the job here. He formerly worked in a cabinet shop as a manufacturer. He says the training he has received at this new job was good and is ongoing, and the work environment is nicer than that at his previous job. Andy especially appreciates the fact that this company uses suppliers who provide superior products, which helps Treasure Valley Door and Trim produce higher quality doors, as compared to those available from competitors, especially big-box stores. Andy has three children, ages five, nine and twelve.

Mike Velten

Production Manager

Mike, the first person to join Treasure Valley Door and Trim at its inception, is the production manager of the door shop. He came to the job with twenty years of experience, beginning as a contractor working in remodeling. He met Virgil while both were working for another business and with the purchase of the door machine, Mike was asked to join the new family business.
Mike is extremely proud of the production of the shop. He says, “Virgil sells the best and Mike makes the best.” He appreciates the quality of materials used to complete the product and the precision measurements he can obtain with the machine.*

Mike sometimes works with customers who have specific questions about Treasure Valley Door and Trim’s doors, and he offers ongoing training for the other production workers he supervises.

Travis White

Warehouse Supervisor

Travis has been working at Treasure Valley Door and Trim for two years. His previous experience included commercial roofing and metal siding, and some finish carpentry.

He follows the usual process for delivery and always double-checks the loads before going out. He says the quality of the materials is above standard and customers can trust the product.

Travis loves the work environment and feels part of the family. A new baby has just been added to his own family and he feels like people at Treasure Valley Door and Trim really care about their employees.
